REDESPA en la International Mineralogical Association (IMA), IMA2014
La “21st General Meeting” de la “International Mineralogical Association- IMA2014 -, se ha celebrado este año en Johannesburgo, Sudáfrica (1-5 Septiembre de 2014).
Una de las sesiones del congreso ha sido la titulada: Challenges in Asteroidal, Lunar and Martian Mineralogy, desarrollada en el marco del Tema: Planetary and Cosmic Mineralogy.
Esta sesión ha estado coordinada por Jesús Martínez-Frías (IGEO, CSIC-UCM y director de REDESPA) y Sara Russell. del Natural History Museum (Londres), quien también ha actuado como conferenciante invitada en dicha sesión.
En general, la sesión ha contado con un total de 12 contribuciones sobre distintos temas: meteoritos, Marte, espectroscopía aplicada al análisis mineral, etc. En dos de ellas los autores son miembros del comité científico de REDESPA pertenecientes al IGEO (CSIC-UCM), la ULL y AVS.
Challenges in Asteroidal, Lunar and Martian Mineralogy
Description:
The session focuses highly on the state-of-the-art and new scientific perspectives related to the study of meteorites, as well as on the mineralogical and geochemical data from space missions (asteroids, the Moon and Mars). In addition, it would address the significance of the Earth analogs, mainly in connection with the identification of mineralogical bio-geomarkers and habitability, and their geoeducational and geoethical issues.
