The<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><strong><em>International Astronomical Union&#8217;s Commission 51<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>was established in 1982 as \u00abBioastronomy: Search for Extraterrestrial Life\u00bb and was renamed simply \u00abBioastronomy\u00bb in 2006.
