In\u00a0October 2015 (6 – 9 October 2015)<\/strong>, we will have our\u00a015th European Workshop on Astrobiology\u00a0(EANA15)<\/strong>; this time hosted in Noordwijk in the Netherlands at the ESTEC complex of the European Space Agency (ESA).<\/p>\n

Abstract submission & registration deadline is July\u00a024th, 2015\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

We would like to inform you that during the EANA meeting there will be a student contest – \u00abThe Space Factor<\/strong>\u00bb – a contest of space science students:
\nwww.eana-net.eu\/Conferences\/Docs_EANA15\/EANA2015_contest.html<\/a><\/p>\n

At the EANA2015 in a half-day session of the EANA 2015 workshop a group of selected PhD students will get the opportunity to introduce themselves and their research to other PhD students and interested conference participants. The student contest \u00abSpace Factor\u00bb gives young scientists a great forum to connect with other PhD students, to learn from them, to exchange thoughts, to gain new insights and ideas, and to establish new contacts and maybe even cooperations. An interdisciplinary committee board will judge the contributions of all participating PhD students and several awards (like the Svante Arrhenius Astrobiology Award) will be granted. The EANA president Prof. Dr. Frances Westall will present the winners of the awards during the EANA conference dinner.<\/p>\n

For the selection of participants of \u00abThe Space Factor\u00bb contest interested PhD students from all fields covering space-related sciences should submit an abstract before\u00a0<\/strong>24th July 2015<\/strong>\u00a0via the online EANA registration form, and indicate that they want to participate in the contest. On the second page of the form, a detailed CV, a publication record (peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings) and a short motivation letter, why the PhD student would like to participate at \u00abThe Space Factor\u00bb contest, need to be submitted before the same deadline.<\/p>\n

For questions regarding the contest please contact the main student contest organizer Dr. Ralf Moeller (ralf.moeller (at) dlr.de<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0student-contest (at) eana-net.eu<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Please extent this invitation and opportunity to all the young scientists in your labs (i.e., PhD-students). There will be a certain amount of travel grants available.<\/p>\n
