Dear Maarten de Wit and Craig Smith,
As Vice-President of the International Association for Geoethics (IAGETH) for Africa, and on behalf of our President, Prof. Jesús Martínez-Frías, and of our Council and Executive Committee, I want to convey the condolences of our Association for the passing away of Nelson Mandela.
His figure, human greatness and ethical behavior are also examples of the many performances marking the pursuit of knowledge and science in general, and in our case the geosciences through geoethics. May he rest in Peace.
